Citadel Miniatures: Produced by Games Workshop in the UK starting in June 1982. The Perry brothers, who are still active sculptors for a number of companies such as Games Workshop
and the Foundry, sculpted most of the minis. Citadel mainly sold their RQ minis as boxed sets in the UK, although some of the minis also ended up in blue colored blister packs of two miniatures. The boxed sets were initially
released with a unique background color on the box and the name of the set on the front and all four sides of the box. Over time, this switched to all of the boxed sets having a common off-white background color, and the name
of the set was only identified on the side of the box with a small round white sticker. All versions of the boxed sets had pictures of each miniature with an assigned number on the box bottom. The white background color boxes
had the pictures on a bottom cover sheet attached with an adhesive that wears out and the sheet eventually comes loose. The minis were originally packed with cut foam separators. For some sets they switched to the Citadel model
plastic tray wherein each mini had a molded spot. When you take into account the fluid and constantly changing (almost whimsical) approach Games Workshop took to how they packaged and sold their miniatures, there are probably
other packaging combinations I have yet to see. I learn something new every few months.
Trollkin Forge Blister Packs In the US, Trollkin Forge sold
each figure from sets 1-7, except for the demons, individually in blister packs. The number of each miniature listed below is the Trollkin Forge blister pack number, at least for the ones I have been able to verify.
Citadel Blister Packs A large number of Broo were also sold in pairs in Citadel blister packs (for 80p). Some of these minis were not available in the box sets. Trollkin Forge produced none of them. The item numbers are
of my own creation and are just for tracking and reference purposes. A complete set of artist sketches of these minis can be found on page 40 of the First Citadel Compendium (1983) and on page 8 of White Dwarf #46. The Broo
featured in the Second Citadel Compendium are mostly a subset of those found in the First Compendium.
White Dwarf Personalities While this boxed set, released in 1984, was not specifically
released for Runequest, it did contain Griselda (figure 6) and Wolfhead (figure 8). They are Runequest NPCs featured in Oliver Dickinson's Griselda stories that were published in many early White Dwarf magazine issues.
