The last, and possibly the best, of the RQ2 boxed campaign series was published shortly before Chaosium turned things over to Avalon Hill.
As the name suggests, here is the Big Rubble in all its glory. Built by giants, plundered by nomads, and now occupied by Trolls, the possibilities for adventure can easily last a lifetime (yours and your character's). You can encounter almost anything: Duck bandits in the Puzzle Canal (where you can also sail to the Hero Plane) ogres on their own island, elves in their Garden, Dwarves in their mines, ad infinitum. Visit Old Town, the Pavis Mint, or the Faceless Statue organ quarry. The Big Rubble is the heart of Prax. So much of all the published material ties into some aspect of the ruin's contents. A plethora of detail is crammed onto most pages and leaves you wanting more. The production of the supplement seemed a bit rushed and quality corners appear to have been cut. One print run has very noticeable typos and often the printing is off center or on slightly crinkled paper. If still intact, the box contains:
What's in the box / credit sheet. Standard issue for all RQ boxes, but this has a bribery table on the back. Common Knowledge for the Players, 16 pgs. It has a map of Genertela pinpointing the
location of the Rubble, three pages of background, eight pages of Rubble expedition forms, maps of major areas of the Rubble, and the write-up of the Yelorna Starbringer cult. Guide for the Gamemaster, 32
pgs. Contains a smaller version of the N & S Cradles River map, a map of New Pavis, a Rubble encounter table followed by encounter stats, and the major Rubble areas with population figures. Much of this was
reprinted. Episodes for the Gamemaster, 96 pgs. Includes Puzzle Canal maps and a Rubble encounter table. Scenarios: 1 Griffin Gate
- the spruced-up version of the original Balastor's Barracks. A few small lead-in encounters have been added. 2 Wolfhead's Lair - get your revenge for the The Great Chart Caper and meet Griselda.
3 Raid on Yelorna - fullfil the macho desire to put a bunch of amazon clones in their place. Unicorn riders & star magic are a bit 1970's. 4 The Devil's Playground - Into a Krarsht Chaos dungeon.
5 Krang's Table - steal back a magic Ernalda butcher's table from a gang of Trolls. 6 The Puzzle Canal
- get the drift of illumination, with pirate-style ducks. Some of Sandy Petersen's best work. Map of the Big Rubble, 17" x 22", same as in the episodes book.
